Carlos Solines Coronel

As a legal professional, my aim is to handle the law honestly in order to achieve social harmony and justice, so my practice has concentrated on conflict avoidance advice.

In 1973, he founded the Solines & Asociados Abogados law firm. Over his extensive professional career, he has earned recognition as an outstanding jurist, consultant, and advisor in both the public and private sectors. His expertise spans a variety of areas that include, among others, Labor and Social Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Civil Law, Natural Resources, Commercial Law, Insurance, and Human Rights. He has advised national and international companies as lead counsel in significant litigation and administrative matters. 

He was also a professor of Labor and Social Legislation at the Universidad Central del Ecuador (Central University of Ecuador) and of Commercial Law, Constitutional Law, and Sociology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. 

As a member of the Bar Association, he was its vice-president and member of the Court of Honor. 

In the public sector, he served as Vice Minister and Acting Minister of Natural Resources and Energy during the administration of Dr. Osvaldo Hurtado. Carlos was a legislator during the Dr. Rodrigo Borja administration, acting as Vice President of the Civil and Criminal, Fiscal, and Legislative Commissions, participating in the enactment of major laws. 

Between 1997 and 1999, he served as Deputy Judge to the President of the First Labor and Social Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.
