Lawyer – Firm partner since 2008. His studies include foreign coursework, though he began with a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, then going on to obtain a Master’s degree in Political Communication and Governance from The Graduate School of Political Management, George Washington University (GWU), and a Master’s degree in Energy Law and Business from Universidad Villanueva (affiliated to Universidad Complutense de Madrid). He has completed postgraduate studies in Governance and Government and Public Administration, open courses in Urban Planning and Public Procurement Law, as well as international courses in Political Management and Public Administration in the United States, Spain, and Chile. He is currently pursuing international study programs in Good Corporate Governance, Compliance, and International Arbitration.
In his professional life, he has specialized in corporate, energy, compliance, commercial, and negotiation matters; he has vast expertise in mergers and acquisitions processes of significant relevance in our country; he has been part of negotiations and commercial transactions of significant importance both nationally and internationally; he has managed major cases involving the establishment of good corporate governance practices in large national and multinational companies, as well as being part of the implementation of compliance systems. Additionally, he has provided counsel to large companies in the energy and electric sectors initiating operations in the country. He had the opportunity to collaborate in the National Commission of Markets and Competition in Madrid-Spain in the energy sector.
He is currently President of Solines & Asociados Abogados, President of the World Compliance Association WCA Ecuador Chapter, Vice President of the Ecuadorian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce CCEC, reporting lawyer of the World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law Index, member of the Transparency Network Ecuador, and member of the World Law Foundation.
In the political sphere, he has held high-ranking public positions, including Advisor to the Government Minister and Government Undersecretary (Deputy Minister).
